The dissimilarity calculated from ALLELIC – 1 data file is strictly equal to the Sokal-Michener dissimilarity for 'Modalities' from SINGLE data.

It is not possible to directly use a .VAR file instead of a .DON file. However you can open the .VAR file with an editor and replace in the header the file type (SINGLE, ALLELIC – 2, SEQUENCE…) by DON and record the file with .DON extension. This new file is a normal .DON file and can be opened in all procedures that ask for an identifier file. The list of variables will be proposed as identiers for units.
